Debutants Dreams FC drawn into tough group C in CAF Confederation cup

Dreams FC, the Ghana FA Cup holders, have been drawn into a challenging group for their debut appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The draw took place on October 6, 2023, in Johannesburg, South Africa, at the studios of Supersport TV.

Dreams FC, who made history by qualifying for the tournament after eliminating teams from Guinea and Sierra Leone, find themselves in Group C.

They will face formidable opponents, including Tunisian giants Club Africain, former Nigerian champions Rivers United, and fellow debutants Academica do Lobito from Angola.

The draw saw the 16 winners of the second round of qualifying rounds divided into four groups of four teams each.

In the group stage, the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-final stage of the competition.

The group phase of the CAF Confederation Cup is set to kick off on Sunday, November 26, 2023, and will run until March 3, 2024.
