Ghanaian giants, Hearts of Oak beat King Faisal 2-0 on Saturday night to recover from two successive defeats in the Ghana Premier League.

Before today, the Phobians had lost 1-0 to Bechem United and 4-1 to Tamale City.

The consecutive defeats massively affected the Ghana Premier League title ambitions of the capital-based club.

As a result, Hearts of Oak set up strong today when the team hosted King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Throughout the Week 29 encounter of the league campaign, the hosts played well in the bid to score goals to see off the opponent.

While the team faced a strong opposition from King Faisal throughout the game, the Phobians had the breakthrough in the 89th minute when talented midfielder Salifu Ibrahim equalised.

Three minutes later, fan-favourite Linda Mtange also found the back of the King Faisal net to double the lead for Hearts of Oak while sealing a 2-0 victory for the side.

Thanks to the victory today, Hearts of Oak have climbed back to fourth on the Ghana Premier League standings.

Meanwhile, King Faisal are in 11th and well away from the relegation zone.
