Hearts of Oak have made a strong push to challenge for the Ghana Premier League title this season after beating Medeama SC 1-0 at the Tarkwa Akoon Community Park.
The Phobians before the win today, had drawn all two previous matches in the league and suffered a defeat to Dreams FC that saw the team get knocked out of the MTN FA Cup.
Today, Coach Slavko Matic and his charges locked horns with a struggling Medeama SC side that is also trying to find form in the Ghanaian top-flight league.
In a Week 14 encounter of the league, there was not much to separate the two teams as a strike from attacker Kwadwo Obeng Jnr in the 33rd minute of the first half handed Hearts of Oak the victory at full time.
Courtesy of the win, Hearts of Oak are now second in the Ghana Premier League with 24 points, the same as Aduana Stars, the team on top of the league standings.
Meanwhile, Medeama SC are 10th on the league table and must find a way to return to winning ways as soon as possible.
