APR 18, 2021 LISTEN

Hearts of Oak on Sunday evening boosted their hopes of winning the Ghana Premier League title with a narrow 1-0 win over Inter Allies Football Club.

The Phobians today, hosted the fellow capital-based club at the Accra Sports Stadium determined to cruise to victory to bounce back from the defeat to Ashanti Gold in their last outing.

As a result of a bright start to the matchday 20 encounter, Hearts of Oak managed to take the lead before the first half break.

On the matchday, an own goal from defender Paul Abagna while under pressure from attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh as he tried to connect to a low cross in the 26th was enough to give Hearts of Oak the important victory.

Courtesy of the triumph, the Rainbow club is back in the fourth position on the Ghana Premier League table with 33 points and just two behind league leaders Asante Kotoko.

Up next for Hearts of Oak, the team will lock horns with Karela United in a game that could potentially send them to the top of the table if they win and other results go in their favour.
