Former Ghana national team coach, Kwesi Appiah has revealed that he has turned down opportunities to be in the dugout from six different countries.

Appiah has been jobless after leaving the Black Stars in November last year following the expiration of his contract after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations hosted in Egypt.

The Ghana Football Association [GFA] subsequently named CK Akonnor as Appiah's successor.

According to him, he has decided to rest for now until when he is ready to return to the dugout.

He added that he has so far turned down the opportunity from six different countries.

“Six countries have come up with offers but because I have decided to take a rest, I am staying off until I get ready to go back to football then we can have this conversation,” he told Ghanacrusader.

Appiah remains the only local coach to have qualified the senior national team to the World Cup in 2014 in Brazil.

He has previously coached Asante Kotoko and Al-Hilal Omdurman in Sudan.
