Jordan Ayew assists goal for Crystal Palace in 3-2 defeat against West Ham United

Ghana forward Jordan Ayew assisted Michy Batshuayi to score for Crystal Palace on Tuesday night when the team lost 3-2 to West Ham United at the Selhurst Park in the English Premier League.

The striker this season has not been the ideal starter for the Eagles although he scooped the top awards of the team at the end of last season on the back of his outstanding displays.

Just like the last few matches of Crystal Palace, Jordan Ayew was today overlooked when manager Roy Hodgson named his starting eleven to face West Ham United.

In an action-packed first half, the visitors went into the break with a 2-1 lead after a brace from Tomas Soucek turned things around for the side following an opening goal from Wilfried Zaha to give the home team the lead.

After recess, West Ham United continued to dominate and double their lead in the 65^th minute when Craig Dawson scored with an assist from Jarrod Bowen.

Looking to salvage a point at the end of the game, Crystal Palace gaffer Roy Hodgson introduced Jordan Ayew in the 73^rd minute to replace Christian Benteke.

The striker immediately gave his team the urge to push with his attacking play causing trouble for the defense of the away team.

Eventually, in the final minutes of the second half, Ayew set up Michy Batshuayi to score. Unfortunately, Crystal Palace could not complete the comeback and has succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.

Even with the 17 minutes he played, Jordan Ayew finished as the highest-rated player in his team having merited a score of 7.3 from SofaScore.
