Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah beleives the club need $600,000 to reclaim the lost glory in the Caf interclub competitions.

The astute football administrator made this humble plea when the hierarchy of the club on Friday paid a curtsey visit to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo at the Flag Staff House.

Other members include Akosuah Dentaa Amoateng, Emmanuel Dasobere and Moses Antwi Benefo.

Asante Kotoko, the record holders of the Ghanaian top-flight and two-time African Champions, will be representing the West African nation in the CAF Champions League this season and thus suggested that should his outfit get ten per cent ($600,000) of the $6,000,000 spent at the 2019 AFCON, Kotoko will carry the flag of Ghana high.

“We cannot do it without financial support, it’s our plea that if your administration can help us with 10% of that, Asante Kotoko can and will be able to restore our lost glory in Africa and reclaim the slots lost,” Nana Yaw Amponsah told President Akuffo Addo.

The Porcupine Warriors, who will be slugging it out against Mauritania outfit Nouadhibou in the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League.

However, they will kick start their Ghana Premier League title chase against Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Accra Sports stadium tonight.
