Ghana international, Solomon Asante has dedicated his MVP award in the USL Championship to his Phoenix Rising FC teammates.

In a 2020 football season in the American lower-tier league which was largely affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, the exciting captain scored 6 goals and provided 9 assists for his team after making 17 appearances.

At the end of the campaign, Solomon Asante has been named as the MVP for the USL Championship as a reward for his outstanding displays.

In a post on his Twitter page on his latest award, the 30-year-old says he is overly-excited and dedicates the MVP accolade to his teammates.

“I’m overwhelmed. This year and season did not go as planned but together as a team, we stood by each other to ensure the joy of the game prevailed”, Asante noted.

The forward added, “This award is dedicated to the entire team, our board of directors, and our amazing fanbase. My family and friends…I say thank you so much.”

With the award, the former Black Stars forward becomes the first back-to-back MVP in the history of the USL.
