Former Hearts of Oak star man, Bernard Don Bortey has noted that he will lead Asante Kotoko to win a continental title if he is given the chance to coach the team.

The Ghana Premier League record winners last enjoyed triumph on the continental stage back in 1983 when the team lifted the CAF Champions League.

Since then, it has been try and error coupled with a number of disappointments in the last 2 decades.

According to Bernard Don Bortey, he will end the drought for the Porcupine Warriors club if he is appointed as the head coach for the team.

“Kotoko CAF Continental trophy droughts can be solved by me if I become a coach for Kotoko am ever ready to coach Kotoko and I can win Africa for Kotoko”, the ex-Hearts of Oak attacker said in an interview with Hot FM.

Bernard Don Bortey added, “Kotoko has a good strong squad for Ghana premier league but they have to buy players outside Ghana to blend the players for them to able to succeed in Africa”.

In the upcoming 2020/2021 football season, Asante Kotoko will try again in the CAF Champions League as Ghana’s representative. Under the guidance of Coach Maxwell Konadu, the team is aiming to move past the Group Stage.
