Ghana goalkeeper, Richard Ofori has revealed the role Fatau Dauda played in his move to Orlando Pirates.

The 26-year-old has signed a three year deal with the Sowetan-giants in the Premier Soccer League [PSL].

The signing brings to an end months of speculation about his future and in his first interview with Orlando Pirates’ TV channel, Ofori revealed Fatau Dauda influenced his move.

“2017 we went to AFCON, and we were talking about the team, and then he was saying the team is a very good team, they are a good family, to join is a good team to join," the former Wa All-Stars goalkeeper said.

“So we were talking about it and I got excited because that time too I wasn’t playing here, so I was feeling it and said, this team is a big team and then the way Fatau was talking about it, I feel like one day I can play for the team”

“So to be here at the moment I feel very excited,” he added.

Ofori joined Pirates from Maritzburg United.
Fatau Dauda had stints with Orlando Pirates in the 2013/2014 season in South Africa.
