The 2020 Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Anyaa- Sowutuom constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Emmanuel Allotey, says he will liaise with security agencies to ensure that, the constituent remains safe and peaceful throughout the electioneering period.

He said even though the NDC is determined to win power in the December election, they would not do anything to endanger the nation's peace and stability.

Mr. Allotey made the pledge when he and the constituency stalwarts paid a courtesy call on the Sowutuom District Police command and the Municipal Bureau of National Investigations outfit to officially introduce the candidate to the security agencies.

The renowned economist and parliamentary candidate for the constituency commended the police for their professionalism which resulted in the party's peaceful parliamentary primaries in 2019.

The Sowutuom District Commander, Superintendent, Patience Akwetey in her remarks thank the constituency executives and the parliamentary candidate for the visit.

Sup. Patience Akwetey used the opportunity to advise political parties and their candidates against provocative campaigns and acts that are capable of breaching the peace and unity in the build-up to the parliamentary and presidential elections.

She said that political parties and candidates are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that would promote peace in the society and also facilitate peaceful conduct of the elections.

“The campaign should be devoid of abusive languages directly or indirectly intended to injure religious, ethnic, tribal or sectional feelings.” Superintendent Akwetey stated.

She called on political parties and the candidates to work as a team to ensure peaceful conduct of the elections in the constituency.

Police officers present were, the District Crime Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Ofosu Mensah, Chief Inspector Julian Ansoman Badu and Chief Inspector Precious Musah.

In a related development, Mr. Emmanuel Allotey who is an astute banker, together with the constituency executives paid a courtesy call on the Ga Central Municipal Electoral Commissioner, Madam Nana Esi Dadzie at the office.

Mr. Allotey commended the EC for their efficiency and good work since she assumed office in November, 2019.

Madam. Esi Dadzie thank the entourage for the visit and advised them to abide by the electoral laws.
