I don't speak for the president. However, whiles I cannot say the same for the dissembling Kwesi Nyantakyi, I can assure you that Nana Addo is not a dishonest man. Naturally, he is not an angel - but then none of us is. Angels live in heaven. The question we must ponder over is: Are some of the people around the president corrupt? From anecdotal stories one hears, yes, probably.
Indeed, not being a very materialistic person, instead of devoting himself to the pursuit of wealth as most people from his background are wont to, Nana Addo rather chose to sacrifice a large part of his adult life fighting for freedom for our people, against various military tyrants in our history.
And I say this humbly, and only in matter of fact fashion: My family's ties to his go back to the colonial days. His father, who was one of my late paternal grandpa, Paul Ebenezar Thompson's lawyers, signed my grandpa's will - an amazing legal document that took full account of our traditions to ensure that his children and their heirs, not his extended family, inherited the bulk of his estate.
Nana Addo is not a corrupt man. Yes, his party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which I loathe, is undoubtedly corrupt - just like yours, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is too, because of its need to find money to run its affairs - but not Nana Addo personally. From where I sit, I am pretty sure that President Akufo-Addo will leave a legacy that will make him one of our great presidents. Mark my words - and see what our homeland Ghana will be like by the end of his second tenure in January, 2025.
As for Nyantakyi, he will eventually be unmasked as the most dishonest man ever to run Ghanaian football. The sod. He had a nerve making out to foreigners that Nana Addo can be bought, for his own selfish ends. Nana Addo is a man who cannot be bought by anyone. Full stop. Your party is making a huge mistake in assuming that Nana Addo can be tagged as a corrupt leader. He is not. And that is a fact.
Yours in the service of Mother Ghana,
