THE management of Ghana Airways has stated that the airline would not compromise its hard won reputation and integrity throughout the world from the damaging activities of any member of staff.
It has, therefore, warned all its staff, especially cabin attendants, to desist from all acts that might bring the airline into disrepute.
The warning comes in the wake of the arrest of a cabin attendant at Dusseldorf Airport in Germany last Friday.
The cabin attendant, Ms. Diana Ahiable, was arrested last Friday at the Dusseldorf Airport in Germany whilst she was going through departure formalities to board a Lufthansa flight to London.
Ghanair management said the incident has come as a shock to the airline since it has in place, stern security measures for all its travelling staff.
A source close to management told the Graphic that in line with the company’s policy, it always carries stringent security checks on all its crew members before every flight. It said following the arrest, management has further instituted additional security measures for all its travelling staff, to forestall the occurance of such an incident in future. “Management has taken a serious view of the incident and would go every length to ensure that its crew members are disciplined, to prevent any such happenings”, it added.
Meanwhile, the source said the airline’s security has instituted an investigation into the incident.
Diana, who was arrested on May 26, is currently being held by the German security authorities. Management of Ghana Airways, has since dismissed her as a staff of the airline.
