The Central Regional Minister, Kwamina Duncan has commended the Governing Council of the University of Education, Winneba particularly the Vice Chancellor, Rev Fr Prof. Anthony Afful Broni and the senior staffs for maintaining law and order in the school.

According to Mr Duncan, the University has contributed tremendously to youth empowerment both within and outside the region towards the socio-economic development of the country over the years.

He disclosed this at a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of an ultra-modern Food Court for the students on campus as well as a restaurant for dignitaries and visitors at the North campus.

The ceremony was also used to unveil the University's Clothing Unit which is expected to take care of all sewing in the school.

Mr Kwamina Duncan is optimistic the provision of such facilities by the university would go a long way to help in the development of the institution and therefore pledged government support to delivering quality education.

However, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Rev Fr Prof Anthony Afful Broni said the management will ensure that the contractor completes the project on schedule.

He hinted that about GHc1.3 million has been invested in the project hoping it will achieve the intended purpose to make academic life of students comfortable.

Professor Afful Broni added the project when completed would ease students, staff and visitors at the school.

The Acting Director of Works and Development at the University, Kwame Danso stressed the project when completed would be a great sign of relief to students.
