We Won't Discriminate In Awarding Road Contracts—Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has assured his government will not discriminate when it comes to the awarding of contracts in the rehabilitation of roads in the country.

In an address to a delegation from the Wala Traditional Council at the Jubilee House on Friday, he stated that no region will be left out in the ongoing road development.

His comment was a response to the delegation who requested for the revamp of roads in the Wa township.

The Wa Naa, Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV, amongst other requests, in a speech, read on his behalf by his Secretary, Jinpenhi Naa Kadri Ibrahim, asked the President to change the Wa Polytechnic into a Technical University, and also expedite the action aimed at completing the process of making the University of Development Studies (UDS) Wa Campus an autonomous University.

An invitation was extended to the President by the delegation, to be the special guest of honor for the celebration of the Centenary Anniversary of the annual Dumba Festival in 2020.

The President, however, in his response to the suggestions made by the delegation assured that their requests will be attended to and stressed that he will be in Wa to celebrate the Dumba Festival.
