Vote For PPP's First Member Of Parliament At Ayawaso West Wuogon By-Election

The Progressive Peoples’ Party believes in “National Developmental Agenda”. This is what we are bringing to the people of Ghana. We cannot implement this policy from outside the national Parliament and so we need the support of the people of Ayawaso West Wuogon to vote for our candidate at the forthcoming the by-election next Thursday 31st January,2019. You do not need to be a constituent to make an impact in the forthcoming by-election. If you know somebody who knows a constituent or indeed if you know a voter from Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency please ask them to vote for PPP candidate, William Kofi Dowokpor to make the difference in our national Parliament.

The people of Ayawaso West Wuogon shall make a political history by being the first constituency ever to elect the first Progressive Peoples’ Party (PPP) candidate into our national Parliament and we cannot wait for this dream to be realised. As PPP, we seek an opportunity to implement an Agenda for Change based on four pillars- Stewardship, Education, Healthcare and Job creation. We intend to use the spirit of inclusiveness that will enable us to use the best Ghanaians; full participation of women and the youth and above all a leadership that is incorruptible.

Breaking the duopoly in Ghanaian politics

For years our country has been run by NDC and NPP administrations in the absence of a THIRD AND substantive political party to break the duopoly that the two main parties have and are continuing to enjoy at the expense of the masses that voted for other smaller political party such as PPP; CPP; GCPP; PNC and DPP. This time we are appealing to fellow Ghanaians to look outside the two big political parties (NDC and NPP) and vote for the Progressive Party candidate Mr William Kofi Dowokpor to be a mouthpiece for all other Nkrumahists parties that have no representation in Parliament. There is no system of proportion representation in Ghana or else we would have had some representatives in Parliament after 2 (two) general elections that we have taken part.

Uniting other political parties

We remain optimistic that the next general elections shall show us in very good light against the background of other smaller political parties uniting well in time for 2020 general elections. In hindsight, I can assure the people of Ghana that all smaller political parties are working towards coming together under a common umbrella to make the required difference in our national Parliament and contribute towards rebuilding of our nation that has grown downwards like a lit-up candle. The way our country started developmental projects under Kwame Nkrumah and his Convention Peoples’ Party (CPP), had the alternative United Party (now New Patriotic Party) continued with the pace of developments then and there, Ghana would have been in the same league as Malaysia, Hong Kon, Vietnam, Thailand and Heaven knows what other countries. By the time we go to the polls in December,2020 we look forward to replicating the United Party formation that took place in 1957.In effect, voting for William Dowokpor of the Progressive Peoples’ Party (PPP) shall translate into voting for all other political parties in the nation that have no voice in Parliament. Little things can make big differences and I entreat the voters of Ayawaso to break the old tradition of voting for a candidate based on their affiliation to either the NDC or the NDC

We have very serious issues confronting the country today that need urgent addressing, ranging from kidnapping, cold blooded murders, armed robbery, unemployment, bad roads and many others. The reason the NDC is not mounting vociferous challenges to the NPP administration is that these two political parties are so close to each other as they have so many blunders in common to the extent that they would offer cautious criticism between themselves.

A point remains clear in line with the old Chinese proverb, thus, “a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step” so are we calling on the people of West Wuogon to elect PPP’s first candidate to Parliament at the forthcoming by-election on 31st January,2019 and that would be start of advancement in our national politics.

Kneejerk campaign projects

From recent experiences, it has been the tradition of siting governments to build or repair roads in constituencies to entice the masses to vote for their party at by-elections. In 2015 the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for the Amenfi West in the Western Region, John Gyetuah passed away and before he was buried the NDC administration hurriedly tarred some otherwise untarred roads in the area to ensure a fitting burial and campaign for their candidate at the ensuing by-election.

Similarly, the NPP administration undertook road repairs in Ayawaso West Wuogon day and night prior to the burial of the late Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko the sitting NPP Member of Parliament who passed away on 21`st November,2018 and for which reason we are going to the polls to elect his replacement in a by-election this Thursday. Finally, I urge the people of Ayawaso West Wuogon to avoid sentimental considerations to elect a replacement for the late Agyarko and to vote for William Kofi Dowokpor of the Progressive Peoples’ Party (PPP) and we look forward to celebrating PPP’s first member of Parliament.
