Deputy General Secretary for the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Lawyer Barbara Serwaa Asamoah has said the vetting and balloting processes for its flagbearer aspirants were transparent, free and fair.

According to her all the aspirants were satisfied with the results of the vetting and balloting processes.

She added that a sample of notice of polls will be opened on Saturday, 26th January, 2019 at the party’s headquarters for the flagbearer aspirants’ to go and verify their positions, names and photos are accurate.

“If any of the aspirants find any mistake on the information given to the party, the necessary corrections will be done but if the information’s on the notice of polls are accurate the notice of polls will be printed and distributed to all the 276 constituencies which will be created for the elections on Monday, 28th January, 2019 ” she indicated.

Speaking in an interview monitored by thepressradio.com on Wednesday, 23rd January, 2019, Lawyer Barbara Serwaa Asamoah indicated that the elections will be conducted freeof any incidences and will be fair and transparent.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has completed the balloting process for its flagbearer aspirants with Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, picking the first spot.

Mr Nurudeen Iddrisu, a businessman, picked the second spot as former President John Dramani Mahama picked the third position.

The process was conducted by the NDC Elections Committee for the 2020 presidential primaries on Wednesday, 23 January 2018.

The positions of all the various aspirants on the ballot paper are as follows:

1* Alban S.K Bagbin

2* Nurideen Iddrisu

3* John Dramani Mahama

4* Sylvester Mensah

5* Ekwow Spio-Garbrah

6* Goosie Tanoh

7* Prof. Joshua Alabi

The NDC has fixed 23 February 2019 for its presidential primary.
