CAC Women's Fellowship presents food items to Orphanage
Awutu-Bawjiase, C/R, Oct 20, GNA - The Country-Side Orphanage at Awutu Bawjiase in the Central Region has acquired 100 acres of land to go into modern farming to feed the inmates.
The Home is also expanding its poultry and livestock project. Mrs Emma Boafo Yeboah, Founder and Mother of the Home, stated this when the Women Fellowship of the Agona Swedru Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) No2 branch presented food items to the Home at Awutu Bawjiase. The items included bags of rice, oranges and bread. Also presented were soaps, toilet rolls and used clothing.
Speaking the presentation, she said funds for the farms were from donations and the foreign partners of the Home who saw the need for the Orphanage to produce food to feed the inmates.
Mrs Yeboah stated that there were 123 adults and 25 baby-orphans in the home between the ages of 4 weeks and 21 years old. Presenting the items, Apostle Okoh Abosi, Swedru Area Head of CAC, said the items were the Church's widow's mite to assist in the running of the Home.
He expressed that hope that the items would be put good use to serve the purpose they were presented.
Rev Joseph Okeley Dentu, Swedru District Pastor of the Church, said the donation formed part of activities marking the Women's week of the Church.
Similar were presentation was made to the Swedru Government Hospital.
