Clinton Adusei Mensah, a second year student of KNUST was arrested and accused of impersonation.

His arrest occurred on the 8th day of September, 2018 at Bekwai Roman Catholic Basic School Examination center.

He was caught impersonating one Isaac Baah to write the core Mathematics paper of WASSCE NOV/DEC with Candidate index number 1059523551 which belongs to the said Isaac Baah who had duly registered for the exams.

The Bekwai WAEC monitoring team went to Bekwai Catholic Basic school Examination center on inspection of candidates writing the NOV/DEC - WASSCE exams.

They found Clinton Adusei Mensah writing a paper and upon inspection and verification they found out that his photograph was not the actual candidate writing the paper but rather he was writing for the candidate Isaac Baah.

He was arrested and handed over to the police Prosecutor D/Inspector Ofori. Clinton Adusei admitted the offence after his arrest.

Clinton Adusei Mensah was immediately sent to Bekwai Circuit court and was charged of impersonation by the court.

The case was presided by his Lordship Frederick Nawura, Bekwai Circuit Court Judge.

Clinton Adusei Mensah was fined 50 units equivalent to Six hundred Ghana cedis (GH600.00) of which failure to pay will cause him six months imprisonment.

Asante Bekwai WAEC monitoring team is assuring the general public of quality, free and fair Examination.

The team is advising candidates who are writing the exams not to make any attempt in any examination malpractice. "We wished all candidates successful examination", they added.
