The manager of Black Stars skipper, Samuel Anim Addo says Asamoah Gyan was not worried after he was excluded from Ghana's squad ahead of Kenya clash but claimed that Kwesi Appiah spoke to him before naming his squad.

Gyan was excluded from Kwesi Appiah's 21 man squad that lost to Kenya in the 2019 AFCN qualifiers last week Saturday at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.

Kwesi Appiah have been questioned why he refused to hand a call up for the Kayseriespor forward but Annin Addo says Ghanaians need not worry since there is no problem like it is being purported out there.

“Asamoah Gyan knew he was not going to be a part of the team because Coach Appiah called him and gave him that information.

"Normally the head coach calls Gyan to discuss the squad with him since he is his captain. There is no problem between the two, Coach Appiah Knows Gyan’s worth but only excused him”, he told Asempa FM.

Touching on the subject of Asamoah Gyan’s retirement, Annim Addo stressed that Gyan is still active and the captain of the Black stars and will announce his retirement when the time is right.

He further insisted that Ghana's all-time leading goal scorer should be allowed to enjoy his captaincy because all the negative comments only destroy the peace within the team.
