GHALCA Boss Kudjoe Fianoo Expresses His Readiness To Be On Normalisation Committee

Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Kudjoe Fianoo has expressed his desire to be on the incoming CAF/FIFA Normalisation committee.

According to Fianoo, who was a fierce critic of the defunct Ghana Football Association and erstwhile President Kwesi Nyantakyi, says he will gladly take up a position on the incoming Normalization committee should the opportunity present itself.

'For the normalization committee, no one has contacted me. I have also heard of the rumours that I have been contacted which I have declined that's not true,' Fianoo told Oyerepa FM.

'I remember the government set up an IMC and that was which I pulled out because of my position as GHALCA Chairman in solidarity with my member clubs.'

'I was billed to meet the President at that time to put before him the plight of the clubs and also how to go about not incurring the wrath of FIFA but only for the appointment to be made through a press release.'

The former AshantiGold chief rendered an unqualified apology to the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo following reports that he rejected an earlier appointment onto an Interim Management Committee in the wake of the Anas Number 12 expose.

'From that time I have heard a lot that I have disrespected the president and so they are not happy with me, I will say am sorry but I felt as a leader I couldn't have betrayed my members.'

'What I have heard is that for this reason I am not in the scheme of things so am surprised people are saying I have rejected appointment on to the Normalization committee. It's not true.'

'But as a Ghanaian if they feel I should be on it, am ready to.'

Meanwhile, reports in the media suggest that FIFA and CAF top officials Veron Mosengo-Omba and Amadu Pinnick will arrive in Ghana on Tuesday to kick-start the process of Normalising football in the country.

The two top officials will be in country to interview the proposed members of the Normalisation Committee. The two will begin work on Wednesday here in Accra.

It's widely believed that the members of the Five-man FIFA Normalisation committee are proposed from the Government side.

FIFA's intervention follows an investigative piece by controversial journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas which revealed widespread infractions in the game.
