Kumasi, Sept 15, GNA - A 49-year old land economist was on Monday enstooled the Chief Linguist (Akyeamehene) of the Asantehene under the stool name Nana Nsuase Poku Agyemang 111.

The new Akyeamehene, formerly known as Stephen Mensah Opoku Agyemang, is the Brong Ahafo Regional Stool Lands Officer. He succeeds Nana Adunya Safia who was destooled as the Akyeamehene by the Asantehene recently. He swore the oath of allegiance to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11

The Asantehene told the Akyeamehene that he had been put on a very important stool. "You should therefore comport yourself by living above reproach and be a man who can be trusted". The new Akyeamehene expressed his appreciation to his people for the confidence placed in him and assured them that he would not disappoint them.

Nana Poku Agyemang is a product of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he graduated as a land economist. He holds a Post-graduate Diploma in Land Administration and a Masters degree in Property Development and Management all from the University of East London.

Nana Poku Agyemang worked in London for 14 years after his postgraduate studies and is a Member of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GIS).
