Modern Women of Wisdom International in collaboration with Save Your Liver Foundation commemorated this year’s Mothers’ Day in style with the Market Women at Dome, a suburb of Accra.
The program which took place on Saturday, 12th May, 2018 at the market premises was part of the organization’s humanitarian activities
The all-female humanitarian Organization and Save Your Liver Foundation spent some quality time with the market women as a sign of appreciation for their enormous contribution to their individual families as mothers and to the country as players in the informal sector of the economy.
A free Hepatitis B screening was also held for all willing participants at the market. The Hawkers in and around the streets of the market were not left out as the ladies from the NGO assisted them to sell their wares as a way of easing their burden even if it was only for that day.
The overwhelmed market women and hawkers expressed their immense pleasure at the kind gesture by the two organizations involved and pleaded that such exercises be held frequently.
“I think this kind gesture is a wonderful one and is going to motivate most of the mothers here. With this generous gesture, I believe those who are getting discouraged will get encouraged.” Said Ante Ama Durowaa, an okro seller as she used knots in her cloth to manage her money.
The Chief Executive Officer of Modern Women of Wisdom International, Nana Ama Asantewaa Kwarkoh who presented the gifts to the market women on behalf of the NGO said that their Organization has a lot of admiration for Ghanaian women as they are naturally innovative, resourceful, and entrepreneurial.
She urged the market women to aim higher by gradually trying to get their businesses off the tables by building connections with other business women in other to expand their businesses and make more money.
Modern Women of Wisdom International (MWOW) and Save Your Liver Foundation used the opportunity to thank all stakeholders and sponsors who contributed to making the program a success as they look forward to future partnerships.
