I'm Just An Ordinary Ghanaian Who Shares In The Daily Difficulty Of Ghanaians--Sly Mensah

Mr. Sylvester Mensah, the man hopeful of leading the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) as their flagbearer in the 2020 General Elections says he is an ordinary man who shares in the daily difficulties of the Ghanaians.

The former Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) believes he shares in the difficulties of Ghanaians because of where he is coming from.

Sylvester Mensah was interviewed on the Executive Breakfast on Citi FM show earlier this morning and he revealed he is the man to make the lives of Ghanaians better because he has experienced the difficulties that most Ghanaians go through.

Speaking to issues on the program, the flagbearer hopeful stated that the point made by Moesha Buodong when she was being interviewed on CNN concerning rent is real fact and policymakers should take note and do something about it rather than lashing out on her.

He is of the view that rent payment is moving individuals and the country as a whole into poverty. “If given the opportunity to lead the party as flag bearer and the opportunity to lead the country I will review the rent law and abolish prohibitive advances’ that landlords take”, stated Sylvester.

He continued he will make sure he makes taking one year and above advances a disincentive to landlords if he gets the chance to lead the people of Ghana.

Sylvester Mensah, who was the campaign coordinator for the NDC in the last election also expressed sentiment on how Government awards farmers during Farmers. He does not understand why Government will build a house for the best farmer in Accra or give the farmer a cross-country vehicle. Mr. Sly argued the farmer will only leave his farm and drive to Accra to sleep in the house which is of no importance.

“Why won't the Government within the contest of the One District One Factory policy take bold decisions and begin to transform the structure of the economy", he said.

He believes the Government can provide a tomato processing factory for the best regional tomato farmer and even for the ten regional tomato farmers across the country so that they can begin processing tomato which will eventually enable farmers to export some of the tomatoes to add to the GDP of the country.

When quizzed about what he will do if these policies are implemented by the current Government, he said he has a lot of more important policies under his belt which equally is of great importance in the quest to make the lives of Ghanaians better.
