President Suspends Deputy Youth & Sports Minister And Director General For NSA

A press release from the communication directorate of jubilee house signed by the director of communications for jubilee house, honorable Eugene Arhin, has indicated his Exellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo has with immediate effect suspended the deputy minister of youth and sports, Honorable Pius Enam Hadzide as well as the director general of the national sports authority (NSA), Honorable Robert Sarfo Mensah.

The press release further stated the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah, the board chairman of National Sports Authority, Honorable Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, and the Chef-De-Maison for the 2018 commonwealth games, Mr. Mohammed Shanoon have all also been summoned back to Ghana for further investigation to be conducted.

This press release comes following the scandal in Australia where some 60 Ghanaians who went to Australia with athletes for the commonwealth games on false pretense were deported back into the country. This is an attempt by the President and his Government to get to the bottom of the matter.

As it stands now further probing into the issues will be carried out but and its unclear if the affected persons in the press release will get to keep their jobs at the end of the day.
