Father of the late Major Adams Mahama, who was lynched last year by a mob in Denkyira-Obuasi in the Upper West Denkyira District of the Central Region has noted with sadness the level at which a number of suspects of the gruesome act have been set free.

The late military officer was in the community as part of an anti-illegal mining operation.

According to the Father, also called Captain Mahama, he would be the most disappointed father on earth if any others out of the 14 suspects who are currently standing trial are freed.

Captain Mahama was speaking on Blakk Rasta's Drive Time Show Taxi Driver on Zylofon 102.1 FM on Wednesday.

"This cruel action was carried out by a whole community of more than 100 people but it is so sad we only have 14 people facing the law after several arrests were made by the police," he lamented.

Even though he is still recuperating from the shock, he is confident justice will be served.

He praised the Akufo-Addo government for co-operating with the family so far.

Meanwhile, the 14 suspects alleged to have been involved in the killing of the soldier have been committed to the High Court for a full trial to begin on February 15th, 2018.

The fourteen suspects, which include the Assembly Member of the area, were part of 52 people who were brought to the Court when the case commenced. After investigations by the police, 38 of the initial suspects were discharged by the court.

According to the prosecution, he was attacked and lynched on suspicion of being an armed robber, while on his daily jogging routine on May 29, 2017, at Denkyira Obuasi.
