Kumasi, July 6, GNA - The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) was on Tuesday presented with 10 orthopaedic beds valued at about 90 million cedis.

The Asante Kotoko Association, a benevolent club formed by Ghanaians based in Washington DC that has since 1993 adopted "Ward C2" of the hospital, donated the beds.

This brings the association's total assistance package to the facility to more than 300 million cedis.

Mr Opoku Addai and Madam Janet Boadiwaah, who represented the association at the presentation ceremony, said they were determined to do their bit to help promote quality health care for the people. They said they would continue to provide the hospital with some of the facilities to enable it perform more efficiently. Madam Margaret Atiemo, Director of Nursing who received the items, said the hospital was grateful to the association for the donation. KATH has 50 orthopaedic beds. 06 July 05
