Anglogold Ashanti Partners Obuasi Bac

The Obuasi Office of the Business Advisory Center (B.A.C) in partnership with Anglogold Ashanti has organized a five-day technical training workshop for B.A.C Associations in the Obuasi Municipality which ended on Friday 13th Octorber, 2017 at the Municipal Assembly Hall.

The technical workshop was aimed at equipping Hair Dressers with the skills in Bridal Decoration and beauty therapies, which are new ventures in their industry.

Mr. Kelvin Ofori Atta, the Head of Business Advisory Center Obuasi, speaking at closing ceremony, laid down the reasons for the workshop. He said the Center aims to assist in creating employment in the Obuasi Municipality. In so doing, AGA has suggested a 10 point pillar of industrialization for the BAC associations.

Nana Ampofo Bekoe the Sustainability Manager of Anglogold Ashanti on his part indicated that AGA is keen to assist in developing communities that they operate in. He said AGA supported the work shop with an amount of GH₵ 20.000.00.

The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Justice Amoah advised Hair Dressers on Customer Care and personal hygiene. He said every business organization will grow on the basis of good customer care services and strict adherence to personal hygiene.

The Chie Executive Officer of Vicky Parlor, Madam Vicky who was the resource person, taught the Hair Dressers the new skills in their profession. She advised them to put the knowledge and skills acquired from the workshop into practice and asked them to teach their apprentices the skills as well. She also admonished them to have a vision on business expansion in other to maximize profit and standard of living.

A total of fifty (50) Hair Dressers in the Obuasi Municipality benefited from the technical workshop. They were awarded with certificates as qualified professional Hair Dressers.
