Aflao, May 24, GNA- The Aflao Circuit Court, on Monday granted three farmers, a bail of 20 million cedis each with surety, for allegedly murdering one Kwabena Boakyi Marfo, a loony who strayed into a house at Akame near Denu.

The plea of Peters Kwablavi, alias Kunekadzo, 40, Santos Kpetor Amable, 36 and Mevemwo Dunyo 35 were not taken and they are to reappear before the court on June 20, this year.

Six alleged accomplices are on the run.

Police Inspector Abraham Tetteh, in charge of Denu Police, told the court presided over by Mr Godwin Kwasi-Kumah that the victim was an Aflao-based businessman before he developed the mental problem. He said on April 2, this year Marfo strayed into the house of one Veronica Egbenya at Akame near Ho who shouted for help.

Inspector Tetteh said this attracted the attention of people in the village including the accused persons who subjected the loony to severe beatings under the pretext of driving him away, leading to his collapse and eventual death.

He said some opinion leaders in the area reported the incident to the Police leading to the arrest of the accused persons.
