Accra, June 28, GNA - Mr Prosper Dan Afetsi, the President of the Foundation For Generational Thinkers (FOGET), a Christian non-profit making organisation, has called for good and quality education among pupils at the Basic level.

He said: "Educational standards in the country is falling and is affecting our generation.

"Education is one of the pillars the country needs in the development of better citizens. Lack of learning materials especially in the private schools is a contributing factor to this menace."

He made the call at the semi-final stage of the FOGET-Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) quiz competition.

Pastor Paul Emmanuel Entsie, Assistant Director of FOGET called on stakeholders to help intensify education in the country.

"We all need to encourage our children to learn and contest in competitions so as to build their IQ and confidence," he added.

The finals of the FOGET-GNAPS quiz competition, Junior High school category, slated on June 28, will be among Favour Complex Academy, Josephus Memorial School, Sowah Boye Memorial School and Debest Academy.

The will be tested on Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and the Life and legacy of Dr James Emmanuel Kwegyir Aggrey.
