Referees chairman Eddie Doku calls off Asante Kotoko bluff of blacklisting referee Sukah

Referees Appointment Committee Chairman Eddie Kormieteh Doku has called off Asante Kotoko's bluff of black-listing under fire referee Samuel Sukah from their matches.

The Accra-based referee has been under enormous pressure this week following his performance in the Super two clash last Sunday when he awarded a late controversial spot kick to Hearts of Oak, which was duly converted by Vincent Atinga to win the day for the Phobians.

In the aftermath of the heated encounter, supporters of the Porcupine Warriors are calling on the Ghana FA and the referees appointment committee not to appoint referee Samuel Sukah to their subsequent games in the ongoing league.

'In the first place let me state categorically, no club can blacklist any referee. We can only prevent a referee from officiating a game if is it not in the best interest of the game. This is not coming from the club I heard, it's from the supporters. Even if it is from the management of the club, that can be done. No club, like I said can blacklist any referee," he told Asempa FM.
