Abura-Afrangua(C/R), April 21, GNA - Leaders of the Universal Christian Mission Association (UCMA) with its headquarters at Mankessim in the Central Region, have launched a sanitation campaign at Abura-Afrangua.

It is aimed at educating people in the area on environmental and domestic hygiene practices to help them to maintain a high standard of environmental and domestic sanitation at all times.

Rev. Isaac Kofi Gyedu, President of the Association and citizen of Afrangua, who launched the campaign, expressed the hope that the people would maintain their collaboration with the organizers of the educational drive to ensure fruitful results.

Rev. Gyedu told the inhabitants, mostly farmers, that it was only when they were healthy that they could confidently go about their farming activities successfully and earn enough revenue to cater for themselves and their children said it was for this reason that the Association had initiated the programme alongside its anti HIV/AIDS continuous awareness campaign in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District to improve the health status of the people.

Rev. Gyedu told the people that regular and effective maintenance of proper environmental and domestic hygiene was the key to a sustained better health and urged them to uphold it firmly in order to guarantee their good health.
