Mr Dan Kwaku Botwe, the Member of Parliament for Okere Constituency in the Eastern Region, who doubles as the Minority Chief Whip in Parliament has vented his spleen on the NDC Parliamentary candidate in the same constituency for making false allegations against him.

The aspiring parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Okere Constituency, Michael Ofori Offei a.k.a Nana Kakra, in a comment on Radio Gold, accused the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Dan Kwaku Botwe, for organizing boys to deface and remove his (Kakra) posters in some parts of the constituency.

According to the NDC Parliamentary candidate, he arrested three suspects believed to be members of the NPP and errand boys of the incumbent legislator.

“I dragged them to the Police Station but for the intervention of their parents, they would have been in cells by now. I promise to take punitive action against anybody caught defacing/removing my posters for the second time,” he charged.

He said, “I don't know why the respected Dan Botwe is doing this to me. I had complained to him, but he seemed not to care. If this is the way he and his boys want to go, then am sorry.”

However, a press statement from the New Patriotic Party office at the Okere Constituency signed by Daniel Nana Addo Kenneth said the comments made by Michael Ofori Offei are absolutely false and that nobody has been arrested for such acts.

“This is just a cheap and infantile tactics for him to gain undeserved attention knowing very well that any news with the name of Hon. Dan Botwe will sell''.
