Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Grace Sarfo told the court presided over by Mr Mustapha Logoh, that Yusif and his wife had been married for 22 years and that on November 16, this year, Madam Abu attended her grandmother's funeral and on return, she met Yusif in bed with another women.

She said this resulted in a confrontation and Yusif subjected her to severe beatings and stripped her naked.

She said Madam Abu ran to her mothers' place to pass the night, but later reported the matter to the Women and Juvenile Unit (WAJU) at Cape Coast and Yusif was arrested.

During interrogation Yusif admitted the offence and was therefore charged, prosecution said.
