Tanoso (B/A), Nov. 15,GNA - Sixty (60) farmers drawn from the Techiman Municipality in the Brong-Ahafo Region, have attended a four-day training workshop on the use of indigenous knowledge in ecological friendly farming practices.

The workshop, organised by the Forikrom Abrono Organic Farming Project (ABROFAP), was to equip the farmers on the application of organic manure towards sustainable agriculture.

The participants were from Fiaso, Forikrom and Tanoso. Nana Kwaw Adams, Executive Director of ABROFAP noted that organic farming had been identified worldwide as the best way to promote sustainable agriculture.

He said recycled organic matter enriched the soil and help to ensure food security.

Nana Adams urged farmers to practise organic farming since the use of agro-chemicals was harmful to human and animal lives.
