KNUST SRC supports students from less endowed schools

Kumasi, Oct 28, GNA-The Students Representative Council (SRC) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, has instituted a scholarship scheme for two students from less endowed senior secondary schools.

Mr. Thomas Nyarko-Ampem, the SRC President, who announced the scheme in Kumasi said the two social science students, Mr. Jonathan Cudjoe and Mr. Rahman Sule, would be provided with accommodation at the SRC hostel free of charge for one year.

The President who was speaking at the launch of this year's SRC Week on Wednesday advised his colleague students to abide by the rules and regulations on campus.

"No student irrespective of your family background and contribution to the SRC is above the law", he said. Professor Kwesi Andam, the Vice Chancellor, who chaired the function, lauded the SRC for establishing the scholarship scheme. He said the University was mobilising funds to build an additional residential facilities for students.
