A young woman in her mid-twenties from East Legon in Accra died on the spot yesterday when she was knocked down by the vehicle on the Accra –Tema Motorway while crossing it to join a vehicle to work in Tema.

An eyewitness said at 7:15am, a Toyota Camry saloon car, with registration number GT 1692 P, travelling from Tema to Accra at top speed, had a tyre burst and immediately skidded off its lane and knocked the lady. The lady, whose name was given as Rita, was dragged for about 50 metres and finally dumped some few metres close to the new toll both near the Tetteh Quarshie Roundabout.
