Owusu-Yeboah Dares Rumour Peddles

GHANAIAN CHRONICLE

THEY ARE THE REAL ENEMIES, HE SAYS

According to the paper, Hon Kwasi Owusu Yeboah, the Volta Regional Minister, has described as absolutely untrue and a malicious tactics, the rounds of allegations being made in certain parts of the region that he was once a lawyer for the Alavanyo people in their 80 – year – old land dispute with the Nkonya people.

Describing it as an abominable lie, not only calculated to score cheap political marks, but also to derail the already fragile peace in the area, the minister challenged the peddlers to come out and establish the truth.

Hon. Yeboah seized the opportunity to clear the air and throw the challenge in Ho yesterday, when the paper contacted him on phone to comment on reports of fresh tension mounting in the Nkonya-Alavanyo area of the region, and other related matters.

He said there were indeed unconfirmed reports of rising tension, but that he had instigated an investigation into the reports and, also instructed the regional police command to ensure that if the reports were true, they should prevent a degeneration into clashes.
