The chiefs and people of Old Abirem are constructing a durbar ground valued at GH¢45,000.00 . The project is the initiative of the Abiremhene, Obrempong Akwasi Amo Kyeretwie and his elders.
Obrempong Akwasi Amo Kyeretwie, the acting Akyem Kotoku Gyaasehene, made this known when he took newsmen round to inspect the project which is about 60 per cent complete.
He said about GH¢ 26,000.00 had been spent on the project which was being funded from the proceeds from the sale of plots of land in the community.
Obrempong Akwasi Amo Kyeretwie said a similar project had been inaugurated at New Abirem at a cost of GH¢120,000.00, and was also funded from the sale of plots of land in the area.
He expressed happiness that the completion of the project at New Abirem would had enhance social activities, and appealed for the support of the citizens in and outside the country to complete other projects. - GNA
