The Chairman of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) International, Apostle Stephen Amoani, has called on the church and the state to lead a concerted effort at raising God-fearing leaders for Ghana, Africa and the world.

'This is the only hope for fighting the canker of corruption and making the world a better place to live,' he said yesterday at the closing of a five-day transformational leadership seminar organised by the CAC, in collaboration with the International Leadership Foundation (ILF).

'I believe it is time for the church and, for that matter, the body of Christ, to take up the destiny of our nation, the continent and the world into our hands and bring the transformation that we are all looking for, ' he added.

The seminar was attended by 52 pastors and church leaders of the CAC with the view to helping them to understand the transformation leadership paradigm, and to exercise effective leadership and impact positively on their spheres of responsibility.

Furthermore, the seminar sought to equip the pastors and church leaders as effective coaches leading transformation, and to create a community of coaches to develop effective transformation leaders.

The participants were taken through topics, such as, 'The church in mission and transformation', 'Moral vision for Africa's development', 'Character formation', 'Community building' and 'Capacity building.'

Experienced resource persons, including Rev Dr Dela Adadevoh, Prof. Paul Buatsi, Prof. George Klu, Rev Dr Peter Kyei, Dr Victor Koh and Dr Tim Kiruhi, handled the topics.

Apostle Amoani said 'The time for positive transformation in the church and the nation is now, and the foundation on which this change will occur is this leadership seminar.'

In reference to some comments made by the resource persons, Apostle Amoani said 'The Christ Apostolic Church needs not leaders who will manage the status quo, but leaders who will challenge the status quo.'

He said God was not looking for an army or a whole nation to bring about transformation; 'He is looking for just one person, and that person could be you'.

Apostle Amoani said the world and the church were looking for servant leaders, steward leaders and shepherd leaders who were not only God-fearing, but more importantly, had good character.

He urged the pastors to make personal commitment to be instrument of change by pursuing personal integrity, building a healthy community, building capacity in their followers and being creative leaders.

Apostle Amoani expressed the conviction that the seminar would propel CAC in particular and Pentecostalism in general to the higher heights in the coming years.

He thanked the facilitators for sharing their knowledge of transforming leadership principles with the participants.
