Ghana Chamber of commerce and Industry visit Trade Minister for partnership

Accra, Feb. 27, GNA - The Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) on Tuesday called on the Minister of Trade and Industry Mr Haruna Iddrisu in Accra to deliberate on how best they could work together to promote the private sector.

The visit was also to congratulate the Minister on his appointment and how to form a partnership between the GCCI and the Ministry of Trade and Industry to assist the private sector.

Mr Sett Adjei Baah, President of the GCCI told the Minister that fees charged at the Tema harbour was so high, making it difficult for many private businesses to survive.

He urged Government to intervene and ensure that the charges are reduced to enable private businesses to survive and create more job opportunities for the people.

He advised government to pay more attention to Agriculture and ensure that qualified persons are employed into the sector.

Mr Baah urged the Minister to collaborate with his team to improve the economy.

Mr Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Trade and Industry promised to work hand in hand with the GCCI to see to the growth of the private sector..

He said 'government would also support the sectors, as part of his better Ghana agenda.
