Worcester, MA. - July 15, 2012 - Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the running mate to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in December's presidential election is visiting Worcester, Massachusetts and Connecticut as part of his first North American tour. Dr. Bawumia is expected to address a town hall meeting on the afternoon of July 15 in Worcester, Massachusetts, and then attend a fund raising event later on in the evening in Connecticut.
In the various meetings Dr. Bawumia is expected to touch on the Ghanaian economy and how the NPP plans to improve it. Furthermore, Dr. Bawumia will meet with private investors interested in education, health and energy sectors of Ghana.Finally, Dr. Bawumia is expected to highlight plans that any future NPP government have towards harnessing the talent and capabilities of Ghanaians abroad. “The visit of Dr. Bawumia to NPP-USA two months after the visit of the flag bearer demonstrates the strategic importance of the Diasporan branches and how important the party appreciates the expertise and support of Ghanaians abroad” according to NPP-USA Chairman, Nana Agyei Yeboah.
Dr. Bawumia will be accompanied by his wife Samira, General Secretary, Lawyer Kwadjo Owusu Afriyie and Youth Organizer Anthony Karbo. Dr. Bawumia and his entourage will leave for Los Angeles, California on the evening of Monday July 16, 2012.
