
Nsawam (E/R), May 21, GNA – Dr Sophia Winful, Director of Health Services of the Akuapem South Municipality, has said people should make hygienic lifestyles a high priority to avoid contracting communicable diseases and illnesses.
She said washing of hands after attending nature's call must be seriously adhered to in order to stay away from diseases like cholera.
Dr Winful said when she made a presentation at the first ordinary meeting of the Akuapem South Municipal Assembly at the weekend.
She said some cholera cases were recorded in some communities in the area and that so far the situation has been controlled.
The Director of Health Services urged the people in the communities to boil their drinking water, warm their foods before eating and also help to clean their environment and surroundings regularly.
She commended the Assembly for releasing GH¢4,000 to undertake education on the cholera outbreak in the area.
