
Thousands of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters in the Ashanti region will today, Friday, 18 May 2012 thronged the Kumasi Polytechnic campus to catch a glimpse of the party's flagbearer Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
The NPP presidential candidate is expected to take part in the programme of the Ashanti Regional youth wing of the party which would be attended by other NPP bigwigs across the country.
DAILY GUIDE gathered that Nana Akufo Addo would officially introduce the party's vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamud Bawumia to the party's youth in the region.
Nana Akufo Addo, whose popularity in the country keeps soaring due to his ongoing nationwide tour of the country, would deliver a speech on current affairs in Ghana.
The former foreign Affairs Minister under the erstwhile NPP administration would also highlight plans of his administration to transform Ghana when he becomes president in 2013.
The NPP vice presidential candidate, Dr. Bawumia, an astute economist, would also educate the attendants on the country's economy.
The soft-spoken politician is mostly adored by the youth of the country for his high level of expertise in economic affairs.
Other NPP gurus, including former ministers of state, parliamentary candidates, national and regional executives, notably Gideon Boako, the Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the NPP, would deliver speeches.
The event is being organized by the NPP Regional Youth Wing in collaboration with their counterparts at the Kumasi Polytechnic.
It is aimed at motivating the NPP youth to campaign vigorously for the party to win the December polls.
