THE CHURCH of Pentecost Koforidua Area Head, Apostle A.K Miah has described ignorance as an unfortunate experience which people must endeavor to avoid at all cost.

He said this during a sermon he preached at the end of the church's Koforidua Municipal Zone 2012 Easter Convention under the theme 'Look and Live' (Numbers 21:8). The event took place at the Koforidua Jackson Park in the Eastern region.

Apostle Miah who based on his sermon on the sub theme, 'Walking with the risen Lord' (Luke 24:13-35) said when people live in a state of ignorance their world is locked up from vital information which will otherwise help them to develop as required.

He narrated the experience of the three men walking to the village of Emmaus after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and how the risen Lord met them and cleared up their ignorance about His mission through step by step tutorials.

The area head appealed to Christians in the 21 st century to eschew cultural traditions and beliefs which enslave them and move all out under the direction of the Holy Scriptures.

'When people walk in the company of Jesus Christ, their lives are transformed and such persons make desired impact in society especially in nation building,' he added.

Apostle Miah also reminded Ghanaians especially politicians of the absolute need to avoid violence and the politics of insults saying the electorate would rather to listen to issues that can help them make informed choices during elections.

'Our politicians must remember that Ghana is a beacon of hope for Africa,' he said.

At the Church of Pentecost, Akwapim Zone Easter Convention, the MP for Aburi-Nsawam, O. B Amoah reminded Ghanaians that the peace of this country lies in their hands and urged them to protect it with all the passion it requires.

The MP said though Ghanaians are peace loving by nature this should not be taken for granted but rather nurtured and sustained.

In a related development, the Church of Pentecost, Koforidua Area Children's Ministry has awarded six children who excelled in a memory verse competition with certificates and cash prizes.

Two contestants Joel Afful and Josephine Oppong who performed very well in the competition will represent the Eastern region at the national level.
