Fire service personnel seminar ends

Cape Coast, Dec. 17, GNA - The Deputy Central Regional Fire Commander, Divisional Officer James Joe-Appiah, has lauded government for providing the service with the requisite logistics and special training sessions for the personnel of the service.

DOI Joe-Appiah said this at the end of a two-day Financial Management and Leadership seminar for 35 fire service accountants and storekeepers drawn from the metropolis, municipal and districts in the Central Region.

The two-day seminar which was organised by the Central Regional command of fire service was to train the personnel in Three Tier pension scheme, single spine salary structure, store keeping and inventory, financial management and administration, treasury duties, and logistics.

DOI Joe-Appiah called on the participants to effectively put into practice the knowledge and skills they had acquired to improve upon the financial management of the service.

He said the seminar was held annually to impart new knowledge and skills unto fire officers with the objective of sharpening their skills in order to improve upon their service delivery.

He underscored the importance of the seminar to the development of the service and called for a regular organization of such seminars and urged the participants to appreciate the efforts of the government in their training and that they should reciprocate the gesture by being committed to their duties and responsibilities.
