The National Youth Organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP)has condemned Deputy Interior Minister Kobby Acheampong, for what he says is his penchant for insulting members of the NPP and particularly it's flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Anthony Abayefa Karbo, who sounded very upset about what he says is the deputy Interior Minister's penchant to launch "unwarranted" attacks on his political opponents, saying Mr Acheampong's attitude smack of hypocrisy, arguing that he often turns around to deny ever making uncomplimentary remarks even when there is evidence to show he said those words.

Speaking on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana Show on Wednesday March 23, Mr. Anthony Karbo said he was highly disappointed in President Mills for failing to “straighten up his junior Ministers who take so much delight in this uncouth behavior” while publicly cautioning against politics of insults.

The NPP Youth Organizer provided a long list of Mr. Acheampong's infamous remarks in the past which he said have always landed him in trouble yet the latter fails to learn any lessons from them.

He mentioned how Mr. Acheampong was sacked as a lecturer from the African University College of Communications (AUCC), after he had gone on an insulting spree on a programme on Metro TV and also put out a false report about former President Kufuor.

He recounted the infamous “Cocoase kuraseni” remark and his description of Nana Akufo-Addo as an untidy person and a fruitcake as some of Mr. Acheampong's recent outbursts.

Mr. Karbo against this backdrop concluded that Kobby Acheampong's constant attacks on the NPP flagbearer confirm that he has a personal hatred for the former Foreign Affairs Minister.

“I think you have a certain personal hatred for Nana. You should tell Ghanaians why you hate Nana Addo so much. With this business of insults, I am completely disappointed in President Mills. He comes to tell Ghanaians that we don't need insults in our political discourse and everybody says the 'father for all' has spoken. Then you have junior Ministers who have developed this penchant for insulting everybody and you keep quiet and say nothing about it" he fumed.

Mr Kobby Acheampong, however, rejected Mr Karbo's assertions, insisting that he was misrepresented with regards to his fruit cake remark about Nana Addo.

“The man is a political fruit cake, that is what I said. And I said it in the context of his “all die be die” comment. I don't have any personal hatred for Nana Addo” he declared.
