Paga,(UER), April 10, GNA - The youth and foot soldiers of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been called upon to ensure that the party remained very attractive to annex another electoral victory in 2012.

Mr. Abuga Pele, National Co-ordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), who made the call said President John Evans Atta Mills was exerting good governance on Ghanaians to the envy of some political opponents of his administration hence the need for party members to avoid acts that would send the NDC back to opposition.

Mr. Pele was addressing some communities in the Chiana/Paga constituency in the Upper East Region to thank the people for contributing immensely towards NDC electoral victory in the 2008 elections.

The tour enabled Mr. Pele who is a former Member of Parliament for the constituency to explain some of the government development agenda and issues concerning the NYEP to them.

Some of the communities he toured are, Nakolo, Bonia, Kulya, Navio, Tansika, Badono, Kandiga, Mirigu and Nabongo where he pleaded with the people not to desert the NDC.

Mr. Pele claimed that although the New Patriotic Party ruled for eight years, it could not fulfil half of its electoral promises to Ghanaians but now expect the NDC to use less than two years in office to solve all problems facing the country.

Mr. Pele also met with district co-ordinators of the NYEP in the region and advised them to work diligently to ensure that the programme is sustained.

Mr. Kojo Kopanamo, Chiana/Paga Constituency Chairman of the NDC appealed to the youth of the party to exercise restraint and give the government time to develop the country.
