Bongo (U/E), Dec. 9, GNA - The Bongo Civic Union (BODCU), a non-governmental organisation in the Bongo District, has organised a sensitization programme on health for two communities, Adaboya and Awukabisi.

It was to educate them on their rights and responsibilities in accessing healthcare as part of its health programme.

The President of the BODCU, Mr. Pius Agunguma-Gaara, said the programme was intended to afford stakeholders in the district's health care delivery system the opportunity to discuss issues militating against the efficient and effective health care delivery in the district and steps to take to bring about change.

Mr. Agunguma-Gaara commended the health workers for the good work they were doing and stressed the need for a collaborative effort to achieve more positive results.

He appealed to the stakeholders to deliberate on the Provisions of the Health Charter and come out with practical ideas that could help make health care delivery in the district effective.

The Deputy Public Health Nurse in charge of the District, Ms. Patricia Fellah, gave the assurance that the management and staff of the hospital was prepared to collaborate with the communities to provide quality health care to them.

The Chairman of the District Health Committee, Mr. Nicholas Adombire, appealed to the stakeholders to collaborate and work collectively to ensure the success of the Programme.
