Some of the 97 suspected criminals seated at the Tema Regional Police Station after they were arrested in a swoop .
The operation was carried out by the Tema police in collaboration with the National Security and the Rapid Response Unit from the Police Headquarters.
Briefing the press on the operation, the Tema Regional Police Commander, DCOP John Kudalor, said the operation which covered, Ashaiman, Tema Community One and Two, and Tema NewTown was to reduce crime and make the police presence felt in the areas.
Adam Damatta, a 25-year-old woman was also arrested on the same day at the Tema NewTown for selling bitters made from Indian hemp.
He said two suspected armed robbers, Aminu Moro, also known as 'Lion', 22 and Numo Holy, 22 were also arrested on Friday in the Adjei Kojo area when they attempted robbing a woman who had gone to withdraw money from a bank in Ashaiman.
Mr Kudalor appealed to members of the public to assist the police to eliminate crime by volunteering information that will lead to the arrest of criminals.
